Hello and welcome to Tacos and Tempos!

This is a blog focused on helping runners fuel and learn by reading my running tips and lifestyle guides.

My name is Gabrielle Rackner, and I am a college Junior at the University of Washington. I have been running since I was 8 years old and trust me, I’ve been through it all when it comes to running. From running in Las Vegas heat, to struggling with nutrition issues, to getting that close to reaching my running goal.

I have a passion for running (obviously) and a newfound love for cooking and nutrition. A few years ago I became anemic from running and wasn’t eating right to help my body fuel and function well; I fell into disordered eating. I decided to make a change. I sought out help from doctors, nutritionists, coaches, etc. but I realized throughout my research that there really isn’t a lot of information for high school and college runners. There is too much “one-size-fits-all” nutrition and training advice and I realized I wanted to use my experiences to tailor advice for everyone.

The goal of this blog was to provide a space for runners and foodies alike to learn about recipes and training from runner who is just like you. My content ranges from gear reviews to recipes and provides advice to high school runners about how to deal with coaches, create team bonding, etc. I’ve also expanded to cover more outdoor activities such as hiking, bouldering, paddleboarding, etc. because I can’t run 24/7! (or can I…?)
