I’m sure acai and smoothie bowls have taken over your feed with their aesthetic beauty and nutritional value, and I’m sure you are either intrigued or skeptical. Either way, you are sure to become an acai-convert when you find how easy, and cost-effective it is to make these at home.
Acai vs. Smoothie Bowl
An acai bowl of course contains the superfood, acai, and the base tends to be a more purple color. A smoothie bowl doesn’t have the acai base, and instead is made up of either all fruit, a choc. protein smoothie, or has a nice cream consistency.
How to make your acai/smoothie bowl: (using the table, and instructions)
- In a blender, place 1 packet acai (if making an acai bowl) and the desired mix-ins (like fruit, etc.)
- Then pour in 1 cup non-dairy milk, and 1/4 cup water
- Blend together, you may have to stir it up occasionally in order to keep it blending. Should end with a thick, but creamy consistency
- Pour into a bowl and top with nourishing ingredients
You can buy a 4-pack of acai at Trader Joes for $4.99
